Your Dazzling Brain - Understanding Pain
We invite you to attend a free lecture on pain presented by the University of New Mexico Health Sciences and Albuquerque Academy. The lecture is will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, from 6:30-7:45PM, in Simms Auditorium on the campus of Albuquerque Academy, 6400 Wyoming Blvd NE.
Pain is one of the marvelous mechanisms your brain uses t tell you to stop and take care of yourself - to pay attention. At its best, pain can save your life. But sometimes it seems to misfire, to cause trouble rather than help.
Please join three UNM School of Medicine faculty members on a journey through the brain’s pathways to understand pain’s functions and the different types of pain. Learn about what happens when pain doesn’t work the way it is supposed to, and what you can do to work with and manage your own pain.
Registration is required for this event. Please go to: https://www.aa.edu/community/community-academy/lecture-series/ to register. For more information please contact Tanya Oates at toates@salud.unm.edu
